Didi:Reason to worry

In the film ‘sholay’ there is a popular and hit dialogue ‘ Agar tum do maroge, to  hum char marenge’. It means ‘if you kill two of ours, we will kill four of yours ‘ Modi ji and Amit Shah team did not forget it. They took as a challenge to penetrate Bengal very articulately and consciously. They wanted to be more revolutionary than the TMC in every set of affairs.BJP is also cadre based party. Amit Shah and with Bengal stalwarts started recruiting the people in mass as also intellectual personalities.

Didi said ‘ unishe saaf’. Didi has her own style of talking ‘ do hazar unish BJP finish’ Didi has a poetic style of deliberation. Once I was present in Didi’s meeting in suburbs where she gave her entire lecture in a poetic (chanda) style. Then She was not in power. Her lecture was entirely against CPI(M), the ruling party. During this election against Modi ji   held  in seven steps, Didi had been losing her temperament as it progressed on in phases. She could not resist the language evenly and Modi ji who is a versatile orator, took the opportunity and used her languages as an instrument of his campaign in all over India.

When BJP set the target 23 seats out of 42, Didi put it up 42 out of 42. (BJP golla pabe) BJP would get nothing. BJP has a slow but steady target of whitewashing TMC in 2021.Bengal is always to be a secular and liberal. The anti incumbency factor is very strong and even now it is persisted. ‘Shardha’ chit fund cases and ‘Narada’ stink operation  have made a deep dent in the ideology of secularism to the common men. The opponents got it as a weapon. CPM and Congress had been out of the purview of election and transferred their share to BJP. BJP was made the most draconian opponent of TMC. Hinduwta was not a factor over here as much as Governance was concerned.

A rise of the saffron has gone up from 17 to nearly 40 percentage during 2019. A small observation, particularly in Kolkata and its suburbs, non Bengali population are mostly businessmen. They hold the power more than the Councilliors,MPs,MLAs and Police force regardless of which party they belong to. It revealed from the discourse of two TMC leaders that the percentage of discharged vote by them for their favor was minimal. But they are the creator and destroyer of local laws. The local people are relocated.

The question still remains why and how Narendra Modi could achieve a historic win. There are many set backs, eg., there is a slowdown in economy, unemployment is  all time high,  people suffered for demonetization, etc. Despite the odds, Modi has had been consistent to project himself as an honest and dedicated leader. The Government has distributed gas connection to every house hold of the village, provided electricity in most of the villages, housing scheme to under poverty line. Sufficiently grant distributed directly to the house holders who has  minimum holding of land and also to  landless laborers. Insurance has been given to the poor for payment of bills for hospitalization. Still it has not been activated yet. And most important dole to general people that they get 4G connection almost free for a year.

Didi had tried to her best to be soft on minority and Hindu majority by chanting Hindu ‘shloakas’ and tenets from Koran. But all failed, even Muslims have voted against TMC this time and Hindus in the borders are consolidated and voted for BJP. One of the Didi’s close and favorite leader said citing the zeal of joining to the BJP leaving behind TMC after the election was over, that the rats were the first escaper from the ship when the ship appeared to be drowning. The question is whose ship it is!. Modi ji has resonated  all over India even where congress won in Assembly Election. It never happened that the anti incumbency did not work.

 We do not  forget that Didi is also a great fighter and consistent eliminator, she may change her steps   Let us see how she can make difference from her own policy and administration before 2021.
